MDAQMD seeks to fill Hearing Board vacancy

MOJAVE DESERT AIR QUALITY MANAGEMENT DISTRICT HEARING BOARD NOTICE OF VACANCY

State law requires that each local Air District have a Hearing Board, consisting of five members with certain specified qualifications.  A Hearing Board is a quasi-judicial body responsible for hearing cases pertaining to permit issues, variances, and abatement orders.

A vacancy exists for the “Health Related Field” member of the Hearing Board. The qualifications for this position are as follows:

HEALTH RELATED FIELD MEMBER –
A member of the medical profession with specialized skills, training, or interests in the fields of environmental medicine, community medicine, or occupational/toxicological medicine.

If there are no applicants meeting the qualifications, applicants with similar or related experience will be considered.

There is no compensation paid for serving on the Hearing Board, however, members receive a stipend of $100.00 plus mileage for each day of meeting. The Hearing Board generally meets once a month.
