Outreach and education to the High Desert's 550,000 residents represents an important component of the MDAQMD's strategy to reduce air pollution emissions within its 20,000 square mile jurisdiction. Here at the District, we believe that when our residents possess the knowledge and the tools to make educated decisions, they can make choices which result in reducing emissions and ultimately, in cleaner, more healthful air quality.  A list of MDAQMD-sponsored programs, awards, resources and events aimed at educating the community about air pollution, its health effects, the District's responsibilities and the public's important role in protecting air quality are provided below:
